I provide board & train, day training, private lessons, and group classes throughout Gainesville and Alachua County. Highland Canine-certified, 960+ hours of professional training, and a focus on behavior modification, obedience, and aggression rehabilitation — not group classes at a pet store.
Gainesville has plenty of trainers. Most offer group classes at chain stores or six-week online courses. Here is what I do differently.
Highland Canine's Master Dog Trainer Program — one of the most intensive certifications in the industry. Not a weekend seminar.
Not just in a yard. I proof at Depot Park, Celebration Pointe, your front door, the vet parking lot, and every real scenario your dog faces in Gainesville.
You learn to handle your dog in the situations that actually stress you out — guests at the door, walks past other dogs, kids running through the house.
Training does not end when the program does. Every client gets lifetime access to refreshers, questions, and guidance on what comes next.
Board & train, day training, private lessons, or group classes — I match the program to what your schedule, your dog, and your life actually need.
I will tell you the truth about your dog's behavior, what is realistic, and what you need to change. No sugarcoating.
Every program starts with a free evaluation so I can match you to the right approach. No pressure, no upselling.
Work directly with a trainer in sessions tailored to your specific goals. You learn the skills, your dog learns the behaviors, and you both grow together.
We pick up your dog each morning, provide the same intensive training as our Board & Train program, then bring them back home every evening. All the professional results without the overnight stay.
Your dog lives with us for focused, intensive training. This immersive approach is ideal for serious behavior issues or owners who need the fastest possible results.
Join other owners and dogs in a structured class setting. Group classes offer socialization, distraction training, and community support at an accessible price point.
Gainesville is not a controlled training environment. It is a university town with runners, cyclists, off-leash dogs at parks, squirrels everywhere, and a downtown that is packed on game days. Your dog needs to function in all of that — not just in a quiet yard.
I train at the places that matter to you: Depot Park, the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail, Celebration Pointe, Butler Plaza, local vet offices, and your own neighborhood. If your dog cannot hold a skill at your front door with a delivery driver ringing the bell, I have not finished the job.
I am based in Newberry — about 15 minutes west of downtown Gainesville. For day training clients, I handle all pickup and drop-off. For private lessons, I come to you anywhere in Gainesville and Alachua County. For board and train, your dog stays with me and gets trained throughout the region.
Haile Plantation is one of the communities I work in most often. The trail system, the Village Center, and the Saturday farmers market are real proofing environments I use regularly with clients. For Haile residents, there is no travel fee — I come directly to your home for the evaluation and in-home sessions. See the dedicated Haile Plantation page.
If your schedule runs back-to-back, Day Training removes the problem entirely. I pick up your dog each morning, train throughout the day, and return them home before dinner. You get the same intensive results as board & train with your dog home every night — and no training sessions carved out of your workday.
Yes. Haile Plantation (ZIP 32608) is within my standard service area and I work there regularly. In-home private lessons, day training pickup and drop-off, and board & train are all available with no travel surcharge. I train at the Village Center, the trail system, and clients' homes throughout the community.
Yes. I do in-home private lessons throughout Gainesville and Alachua County — Haile, Duck Pond, Tioga Town Center, the 34th Street corridor, and everywhere in between. For areas on the far east side, a small travel stipend may apply.
Depot Park, Celebration Pointe, Butler Plaza, the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail, local vet offices, and your own front door. If your dog cannot hold a command at your front door with a delivery driver ringing the bell, we are not done.
I handle all pickup and drop-off. Gainesville clients are on the daily route — your dog gets picked up in the morning, trained throughout the day, and brought home before dinner.
At your house. I come to you so I can see your dog in the environment where the problems actually happen — your front door, your yard, your neighborhood. That gives me a much better read than meeting somewhere neutral.
The evaluation is free and there is no pressure to commit. I will be honest about your dog, your goals, and whether I am the right fit.
